Where have you been, someone emailed me. Why aren't you posting! Isn't it YOU who makes sarcastic comments about abandoned blogs and now, look at your own newborn blog baby, less than one year old, left for weeks, abandoned. What kind of Blog-Mama are you?
Okay, my friend shamed me into what I've been meaning to do for a very long time -- get back to posting. After all a blog entry should be a quick chat -- no polished article. I've got no excuses.
The guys at HitTail.com sent me a query to ask if I'd had a chance to try out their product. Wow, nice courtesy follow-up. It makes me wish I had tried it out. To be honest, I've gotten away from looking so much as SEO. I'm really thinking it's NOT my stength. I think I'm a better writer than an SEO expert and frankly the constant flux of SEO makes me realize it's a time-consuming area to stay on top of. And when I say SEO, I'm including keyword analysis, identifying niches etc.
There are so many aspects to online marketing that it's important to look at what you do and don't do well. And to find someone competent that you can trust to handle, what you are not so good at. I know that the first step to making money online is to get traffic to your site and that comes for free if the big search engines like you, but... it's not going to be my current focus. I've learned enough to get some traffic and if I get the rest down -- good content, products, conversion -- then I'll invest my modest profits in paying a traffic/SEO expert.
One simply can't do it all.
Okay, next post will answer the question "Where Have You Been?" not as an excuse, but because it's interesting.... promise it won't be a whole month until you hear!!
